The platform for sommeliers

The wine-tasting
studio built for
sommeliers.

Train alone on different tasting grids, an AI examiner marks every axis. Then host blind tastings where guests join with a 6-character code, drop pins on a world map, and the AI scores every palate. One studio. Two rituals.

Two ways to taste

One studio. Two rituals.

Pick the mode that fits your night. Train solo before an exam, or pour for a roomful of friends — same studio, same login, totally different choreography.

Solo · Practice

The practice room for sommeliers.

Pour blind, fill in a professional tasting grid, then identify the wine — grape, region, vintage, and producer, all on the grid. An AI examiner returns a score, a per-axis breakdown, and one coaching tip to take into the next round.

  • Multiple professional tasting grids supported out of the box
  • Per-axis rubric: appearance, nose, palate, conclusion, identity
  • Strengths, misses, and a coaching tip every single round
  • You reveal the wine — judge yourself, then start another

Hosted · For the room

The tasting room for everyone else.

Spin up a session, share a 6-character code, and let guests join in a tap. They rate three sliders and pin the origin; you reveal wines on your own pace; the AI writes heritage stories and scores every palate live.

  • 6-character join code — no install, no account, no friction
  • Three sliders, a vibe chip, an origin pin on a world map
  • Live communal ledger with every guest's notes and guesses
  • AI heritage story and a leaderboard at the reveal

Solo Practice

A study partner that grades you honestly.

Solo blind-tasting practice for sommelier candidates and any sommelier who wants to keep their palate sharp. Pick a framework, fill in the grid blind, identify the wine, then let the AI examiner mark it like a real exam.

1 · Pick a framework

Professional tasting grid

Pick the professional tasting grid your exam uses — structured appearance, nose, palate, and conclusion, followed axis by axis, the way sommelier candidates train worldwide.

2 · Taste blind
  • Fill in the grid first.Appearance, nose, palate, conclusion — log it before peeking at the bottle.
  • Then guess identity.Grape, country, region, vintage, producer — all recorded right in the grid's conclusion.
  • Finally, reveal the wine.Enter what was actually in the glass. No cheating — the examiner has seen it now.

Coaching tipYou called the structure beautifully but anchored "Old World, cool climate" too early — the alcohol-to-acidity ratio actually pointed warmer. Spend an extra beat on alcohol next round.
Hosted Mode · How a session runs

Three acts. No clipboards.

Open Sommelier Studio on a laptop or tablet as the host. Guests use their own phones. Everything syncs in real time — notes, origin pins, leaderboards — no installs, no accounts, no paper.

Act 01 — The Invitation

Spin up a session in ten seconds.

As the sommelier, you name yourself and we generate a 6-character join code. Guests type it on any phone — no app install, no login.

The Guest Experience

A guided flow for
first-time tasters.

In hosted mode, your guests don't need to know what "jammy" means. Sommelier Studio walks them through three focused steps — sensory notes, origin guess, and summary — then waits for you to reveal the wine together.

  • No vocabulary requiredSliders replace jargon. Vibe chips capture mood. The grape guess is optional.
  • Origin pin on a live mapGuests drop a pin where they think the wine is from — we calculate the distance to the actual terroir.
  • Locked in, not locked outGuests can revise before the reveal. Afterwards, everyone sees the full communal ledger together.

The AI Sommelier

Every palate gets
its own review.

In solo practice, the AI becomes your examiner — marking each axis of the grid and pointing at the one thing to work on next. In a hosted session, the same engine reads each guest's notes and returns a warm, specific review with a 0–100 score, plus the wine's heritage story on the fly.

Master Sommelier Review · Jules

"You nailed the medium-plus body and picked up on the dried rose petal — a signature of aged Nebbiolo. Your pin was 112 km off, but directionally you were in Piemonte. Keep trusting the florals; they're your tell."
The Wine's Heritage

First planted on the Langhe hills in the 14th century, Nebbiolo takes its name from the fog — nebbia — that settles over the vineyards before harvest. This particular bottle was…

Hosted Mode · Two roles

Different tools for
the pourer and the poured.

When you host, the sommelier controls the flight — adding wines, revealing them, and seeing every guest's submission in real time. Guests see only what they need, when they need it.

For Sommeliers

Run the flight like a pro.

Build the flight, manage participants, reveal when the room is ready.

  • Add wines with producer, vintage, region, and coordinates
  • Invite and name participants before the session starts
  • Reveal wines one at a time and release notes when you choose
  • Promote your favorite local wine shops to recommendations
  • See the full communal ledger with every guest's logs
  • Rate the wine yourself for a side-by-side comparison
For Guests

Taste like the only thing that matters is taste.

Join with a code, log three sliders, drop a pin, and wait for the reveal.

  • Join in one tap with a 6-character code — no account
  • Rate body, tannins, acidity without wine-speak
  • Drop a pin on a world map to guess the origin
  • Optionally guess the grape and pick a vibe
  • Revise your submission before the reveal
  • See your personalized AI sommelier review when it's time
Who pours with it

Built for the room,
whichever room you're in.

Sommelier Studio adapts to the table — or to the quiet study night before an exam. The same login covers solo practice on a professional tasting grid and live hosted tastings with up to dozens of guests.

Sommelier exam prep

Drill the grid until it's muscle memory.

Pour a mystery bottle, fill in a professional tasting grid blind, then identify the wine. The AI examiner marks each axis, flags what you missed, and hands you one tip to take into the next round.

Wine clubs & guilds

Give every member a reason to show up.

Share the session code before the meeting — members join on their phones, log tasting notes, and compete on the leaderboard. Blind tastings go from passive to unmissable.

Restaurant & home tastings

You pour. We'll handle the drama.

Spin up a session in ten seconds, hand the room a code, and let the guesses fly. The AI writes every wine's heritage story — so you can focus on watching people discover they actually like Nebbiolo.

Good questions

What to know
before you pour.

Can't find the answer? Reach out — we'd rather have a real conversation than bury another help center.

Which tasting frameworks does solo practice support?

Professional blind-tasting grids out of the box, covering appearance, nose, palate, and conclusion. Pick the one your exam uses; the AI examiner marks against the structure of that grid.

How does the AI examiner score me in solo mode?

After you reveal the wine, the model compares your tasting note and identity guess against the actual bottle. You get an overall 0–100 score, a per-axis breakdown (appearance, nose, palate, conclusion, identity), a list of strengths and misses, and one specific coaching tip for the next round.

Do guests need to install anything for hosted tastings?

No. Guests open Sommelier Studio in their phone browser, type the 6-character code, and pick their name. That's it. No App Store, no account, no password.

What happens if someone refreshes mid-tasting?

They're reconnected to the same session and participant. All your ratings, notes, and origin pins are preserved — the communal ledger is cloud-synced via Firebase.

Can I run a blind tasting with wines I add myself?

Yes — that's the default in hosted mode. Add each wine's name, producer, region, vintage, and coordinates. Keep "revealed" off until you're ready. Guests see only a placeholder bottle until the reveal.

Is there a limit on participants?

No hard cap. We've tested sessions with dozens of guests, including mobile-tethered network conditions. The communal ledger handles large groups gracefully.

Open the studio

Pour the wine. We'll handle the ceremony.

Train tonight on a professional tasting grid with an AI examiner, or host a roomful of friends Friday with a 6-character code. Same login, same studio, no install required.
